You Go Your Way

Standard

You left a great big gaping hole

Inside my heart, oh did you know?

A place that only you could fill,

And now that only time can heal.

You didn’t even say goodbye.

You didn’t even tell me why!

You left – that wasn’t quite enough –

You had to make the going rough.

So maybe you weren’t quite that great,

But I loved you with children’s faith.

You’re gone – though I thought you would last –

Not only that, you took my past!

Now I can’t even speak your name

For fear of causing others pain.

You took a piece of who I am;

Now I must cope as best I can.

You go your way and I go mine;

…I wonder if, at night, you cry.

When I Am Gone

Standard

When I am gone, (oh, happy day!)

Oh, please don’t fret or pine away.

For I’ve gone to a better place,

A place where there’s no war or hate;

A place where I need never fear;

Nor try in vain to stem my tears.

This world’s a sad and lonely one,

And so, when all my work is done,

I’ll go up where the Son shines bright;

So don’t you weep; for I’m all right.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?

Standard

One of today’s hottest issues is that of same-sex marriage. Whether called lesbian, homosexual, gay or sodomite, the basic question is this: Are same-sex relationships right or wrong? The Bible is very clear on this subject, and Christians have no excuse to waver on it. Homosexuality is wrong, and while we are not to hate people, God is very clear that we should hate the sin. Here are the reasons why.

1. God created man and woman.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

“Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.”

God intends for a marriage to consist of one man and one woman, for one lifetime. Any other kind of relationship (polygamy, adultery, homosexuality, etc.) is contrary to God’s plan for the family. Homosexuality is definitely not accepted by God as an alternate lifestyle”.

2. God defines it as an abomination.

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination…”

God defines the worst kind of sin as an “abomination”. Such sins as adultery, idolatry, habitual lying, cross-dressing, and homosexuality are identified as abominations. In the Old Testament, most of these were punishable by death.

3. God says it is an obstacle to salvation.

“Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Unless a person repents of his sin, he or she can not inherit the kingdom of God. The Bible is very plain on the subject of repentance and belief. To be saved, one must first understand that he is a sinner, that he can not get to heaven on his own. He must then believe that Jesus died to save him from his sins, and turn to Him in faith. Actively involving in the rebellious sin of homosexuality shows unrepentance and the flagrant disobedience of God’s law. It is a very large, but not insurmountable obstacle to salvation, for the Bible continues to say,

“And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

The Bible teaches that all men can be saved, but they must first turn from their sin.

Homosexuality is wrong. Don’t be afraid to say it.
